Privacy Policy for PromptDeck

Overview

PromptDeck is a productivity tool that connects your iPhone to your Mac via WebSocket for text injection and Mac automation. This privacy policy explains how the app handles your information.

Data Collection

PromptDeck collects and stores the following data locally on your device only:

• Authentication PIN: 6-digit PIN for pairing with your Mac (stored securely in iOS Keychain)
• Server IP Address: Your Mac's local IP address and port (stored in app preferences)
• Button Configuration: Your custom button layouts and settings (stored in app preferences)

Data Usage

• PIN: Used solely for authenticating your iPhone with your Mac's PromptDeck Host app over your local network
• Server IP: Used to establish WebSocket connection to your Mac
• Camera Access: Used only for QR code/barcode scanning when you explicitly open the scanner; images are never stored or transmitted
• Button Actions: Sent to your Mac to execute automation commands; never leaves your local network

Data Sharing

PromptDeck does NOT:

• Collect any personal information
• Use any analytics or tracking services
• Share data with third parties
• Store data in the cloud
• Transmit data outside your local network
• Connect to external servers
• Include advertisements

Network Communication

All communication occurs over your local Wi-Fi network between your iPhone and your Mac. The app uses WebSocket protocol (ws://) for real-time communication. No external servers are contacted, and no data leaves your local network.

Data Retention

• PIN: Stored in iOS Keychain until you tap "Forget PIN" in the app or delete the app
• Server IP: Stored in app preferences until you delete the app
• Button Configuration: Stored in app preferences until you delete the app
• Camera Images: Not stored at all; processed in memory only for barcode scanning

Your Rights

You can delete all app data by:

1. Tapping "Forget PIN" in the app settings to clear authentication data
2. Deleting the app from your device to remove all stored data

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control over it at all times.

Security

PromptDeck uses iOS Keychain for secure storage of your authentication PIN. All communication with your Mac occurs over your local network. We recommend using a secure Wi-Fi network with WPA2/WPA3 encryption for optimal security.

Children's Privacy

PromptDeck does not collect any personal information from users of any age. The app is designed for general productivity use and does not target children specifically.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
